To continue the very humbling story of Mr. Kang and his big dream, I have been asked to share how this business continued to grow and evolve through mentorship, leadership, and belief.
In July 2024, I was introduced to Mr. Kang by Mary Phenduka. Our very first meeting took place in Sandton. During that meeting, Mr. Kang openly shared the many challenges he was facing. He explained that although he had the stock, he did not know how to effectively support and grow the network across Africa. More importantly, he spoke about the responsibility he felt towards the women who depended on this business to earn an income and his dream of developing Miko&Anna into something truly meaningful.
When Mr. Kang invited me to join the business in July 2024, I knew in my heart that if I could mentor and inspire the bruised and demotivated group of women to see their true potential, together we could rebuild a business that was on the verge of closing its doors.
At the time, however, I was preparing to leave South Africa for two months. I knew that accepting the leadership role of Director immediately would do more harm than good, so I committed to joining upon my return. Before leaving, I introduced a few trusted friends in Johannesburg to Mr. Kang in the hope that they could assist him while I was away.
Mr. Kang was also introduced to Tasneem Khan and three phenomenal women from Cape Town— Samee, Jenny, and Kariema. One of the first things these women shared with him was how much they loved the products and how strongly they believed the business could become something truly special if the earning structures were improved and a mobile app was introduced.
During my time away, Tasneem Khan played an instrumental role in helping Mr. Kang design the first basic version of the Miko&Anna app. She also supported our Ambassadors with incentive ideas while working closely with the Head Office team to assist those experiencing stock and logistical challenges.
In December 2024, I officially joined Miko&Anna and embarked on my first road trip across Cape Town to meet our existing Ambassadors. During that visit, I launched our new commission structure and invited them to become part of the exciting growth journey I believed was possible through recruiting new Sales Ambassadors.
I saw something that many people had overlooked—the passion, resilience, and commitment of women who, despite the challenges they had experienced, remained determined to build Miko&Anna into a business that could empower women across Africa.
I took the risk of giving up my non-profit organisation because I saw goodness, I trusted Mr. Kang, and, most importantly, I believed in the women who were hungry to make this business succeed.
In January 2025, I officially stepped into my role as COO of Miko&Anna.
One of my first priorities was to analyse the challenges within the business and begin implementing systems and structures in an office environment that was, at the time, disorganised and struggling to function effectively.
Then came a defining moment.
Mr. Kang announced that he would be returning to South Africa in March 2025.
I planned an Opportunity Meeting in Bedfordview and invited 80 registered Miko&Anna Ambassadors to join us. Only 13 Ambassadors and my compliment of 6 staff members attended.
That day became the beginning of what I now call my "Powerful Table of 10."
I didn't know exactly where the journey would take us. I didn't know who would choose to believe. But I knew that if I could help women believe in themselves and their dreams, and if we worked together as one team, we could rebuild Miko&Anna and inspire many others to follow.
I would like to acknowledge the incredible women who became part of that journey: Louise, Patience, Sophy, Khopotso, Matebello, Manthiba, Pinky, Lawrencia, Winnie, and Mohebat.
These women immediately understood that Miko&Anna was ready for a rebirth, a restart, and a rebrand.
On 1 March 2025, each of them began their journey as Sales Ambassadors. They were challenged to recruit three Sales Ambassadors and achieve group sales of R10,000 over three months. Those who promoted three Brand Ambassadors, achieved R30,000 in sales, and met my leadership development criteria would earn the promotion to Senior Brand Ambassador.
There is one woman I must acknowledge in particular.
When I introduced the Sales Ambassador, Brand Ambassador, and Senior Brand Ambassador opportunities, Mokgadi immediately saw the bigger picture. While many still had doubts about the new structure, she embraced it wholeheartedly. She promoted eight new Brand Ambassadors and invited me to Polokwane. She became one of the first examples of what is possible when belief meets action.
The results of our new earnings and growth strategy were embraced with tremendous enthusiasm.
By April, we celebrated our first promotions to Brand Ambassador.
By May, even more phenomenal people joined after hearing that Miko&Anna was back in business, each driven by their own dreams and aspirations.
May 2025 became my first R1 million sales month as COO of Miko&Anna.
I can not adequately express the joy I felt. It was proof that the doors of opportunity and dreams had truly opened.
I would also like to acknowledge Irene, who consistently supported our Ambassadors with product knowledge and Inshaaf for creating the new branded badges while I settled into my new role as COO. We all rise by respecting and supporting one another.
While this growth was taking place, Mr. Kang travelled extensively in search of beautiful new products.
He promised to return with an exciting new range for our July 2025 launch event, where people from across the country would gather to celebrate the achievements of our growing community.
May, June, and July 2025 became some of the most rewarding months of my career.
Training, mentoring, and supporting Brand Ambassadors while watching them discover their own potential was an incredible privilege—one that many people in the corporate world never have the opportunity to experience.
Our Head Office team also embraced the vision. Pasi, Lebo, Mfundo, Chris, Spho, and Odwa welcomed the changes with enthusiasm, commitment, and positivity, helping create an inspiring working environment for me.
A business that had been operating at a significant deficit earlier that year was now growing month after month into a remarkable success story built on opportunity, earnings, leadership, and belief.
In July 2025, we officially rebranded Miko&Anna and hosted our first major conference attended by 60 phenomenal women.
These women believed in the vision.
They believed Miko&Anna could provide them with the opportunity to build successful businesses of their own, and they were beginning to experience meaningful income for themselves and their families.
As we introduced monthly variable earnings across multiple leadership levels, many people who had become disillusioned through previous experiences began to see genuine change.
Confidence returned.
Belief in Miko&Anna was restored.
And we have never looked back.
Every month since then, our Brand Ambassadors have embraced the philosophy of growing by developing others. They continue to mentor, support, and uplift newly promoted Ambassadors, creating a culture where success is shared and leadership is multiplied.
As COO, I know that none of this would have been possible without every single person who chose to believe in my vision for Miko&Anna.
To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you.
I see you.
I appreciate you.
My hope for the future is that each of you will build your own Powerful Table of 10 and grow it into a community of 150 to 200 people whose lives will be positively transformed through opportunity, leadership, mentorship, and belief.
Today, as I celebrate my two-year anniversary with Mr. Kang and our Miko&Anna Birthday Month, I do so with gratitude, continued ambition, hope, courage, and pride.
Together, as leaders, mentors, and changemakers, I truly believe we will continue building a business that empowers people, transforms lives, and becomes the direct selling company of choice across Africa.
For me, the story of Miko&Anna has never simply been about products.
It has always been about people.
About dreams.
About believing in one another.
And about the extraordinary things that become possible when ordinary people choose courage over fear.
Thank you for walking this journey with me.
I love and appreciate every one of you.
Wishing you all an incredibly successful July and August, and I look forward to celebrating your achievements with you on 5 September 2026.
With love and gratitude,
Mooniba Bhyat
